Secret World is seeking to add to its vital front of house volunteer reception and rescue team.
As a front line member of Secret World, reception volunteers, supported by members of the animal care team, deal with an interesting array of enquires about orphaned and injured casualties . The reception team manage and coordinate rescues with volunteer response drivers, admit casualties, assist with sales in the shop and a multitude of other duties.
Demand at Secret World is very seasonal, with October to March being quieter months and mid spring through to autumn being exceptionally busy times. The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure during the busy season is very important. The phone lines sometimes don’t stop ringing during this period so being able to multitask is a great asset. Although demanding at times, it is also an exceptionally important, interesting and rewarding role.
Yellow squares indicate 1 regular opportunity available. Orange indicates more than one regular opportunity. Blue indicates an opportunity every other week.
Reception late shift times vary with the seasonality of the centre. During busier times of the year, April to October, the reception is staffed until 10 pm, and in quieter months it is earlier.
There are significant changes in casualty numbers due to seasonality, so staffing levels often change as well. If there is not currently a vacancy when you are available, please do come back and check the vacancies regularly as they do change.
