Work related learning – KS3 to Post-16
We will support your students to get involved in the day-to-day running of our wildlife rescue centre.
Students will take part in practical, hands-on tasks during a block of visits. A fantastic way to develop vital employability skills.
This is a great opportunity for students that will benefit from practical learning experiences. In the past we have supported SEN students, young people with mental health needs, and Level 1 Animal Care students.
Contact us on 01278 768 723 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss how we can support your group.
Onsite Learning – Post-16
We offer onsite learning sessions for post-16 students studying Animal Care, which focus on wildlife rehabilitation.
These bespoke sessions are delivered by our professional Animal Care staff and are based on elements of our Wildlife Courses, which can be adapted to fit the learning objectives of your group.
Details of the Wildlife Courses can be found here.
Please get in touch, email@example.com, to discuss pricing and how we can fit the needs of your group.
Outreach visits are available to schools in the Somerset, North Somerset and Bristol areas. Please get in touch with the learning team, firstname.lastname@example.org, to discuss a visit to your school. We are happy to adapt the content of the sessions or talk to best suit your topic and learning objectives.
Talks and assemblies:
Our inspiring talks usually cover the work of Secret World Wildlife Rescue, the human impact on some of our casualties, and an opportunity to meet and find out about one of our resident British birds of prey.
Each talk lasts for 30mins, plus time for questions. They are charged at £75, plus mileage at 40p per mile.
Do get in touch to discuss availability.
£3 per pupil for a 1 hour workshop (or a minimum price of £75), suitable for a maximum of 35 pupils. Mileage is charged at 40p per mile round trip.
We offer a 15% discount for multiple workshops on the same day.
Many groups choose to fundraise for Secret World to cover the cost of an outreach talk, a great way to inspire pupils to consider how they can help local wildlife.
Why not have an animal themed non-uniform day or sell some handmade wildlife themed crafts? For more fundraising ideas or to book a talk, call us on 01278 768 723 or email email@example.com

Need help funding an extracurricular activity or on-site visit? Speak to your PTA and see if they can help to finance the activity and transport costs. PTA’s are often looking for projects to fund that develop children’s learning outside of the classroom. You can also ask them to put on a special fundraising event to raise money to support these visits.
