Family learning

Wild Academy

Inspire your children’s curiosity and love of British wildlife.

Wild Academy workshops are perfect for children to get outdoors and explore nature in a fun and interactive way, during the school holidays.

Each workshop will focus on wildlife, the environment, nature and habitats, explored through games, crafts, experiments, stories and outdoor activities. Children will discover what they can do to protect our wildlife and the habitats they live in.

All children are welcome, best suited for children age 4-11 years old.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Our next holiday Wild Academy workshops will be held in October 2023.

Wild Academy: Helping Hedgehogs- Thursday 26th October

Please come wrapped up in warm and waterproof clothing.  We’ll be walking along some uneven countryside paths so sturdy shoes are a must.

Home Educators

Join us once for our home educators learning sessions.

A great opportunity for families who home educate to learn about British wildlife and the environment, to meet new friends and have fun!

Each 2-hour session will give children and their parents the chance to find out more about our native wildlife, play games, make crafts and take part in outdoor activities.

Best suited to children aged 5-11 years old.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Dates for 2023 TBC, booking essential.

We are currently offering home educator sessions for groups of 5 or more, please contact us using the email address below if you are interesting in visiting with your group.

As part of the session we will be outside, please bring warm and waterproof clothing and footwear.

If you are part of a home educator group and would like to enquire about a visit to Secret World please email Learning@secretworld.org for more information.

Please note:

Although our sessions will focus on learning about wildlife in a hands-on way, this will not involve contact with any of our animal casualties.  We are committed to keeping injured and orphaned animals away from human contact so they can be safely released back into the wild.
