Calling all runners, walkers and exercise fans! Help support the wild animals in our care while taking part in a record-breaking virtual running event.

Secret World Wildlife Rescue has places available in the Virtual Virgin Money London Marathon 2021. This year’s Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday 3rd October is set to be the biggest marathon ever staged anywhere in the world, with an incredible 100,000 runners scheduled to take part. There will be 50,000 participants on the traditional course from London’s Blackheath to The Mall – an increase of more than 7,000 on the previous finisher record – while another 50,000 people run the 26.2 miles in a virtual event around the globe. If you’re a keen runner or walker and want to raise money to help save British wildlife, this is a great opportunity to do both. We are signing up runners who can commit to a fundraising target and help raise much-needed funds for our charity. Here’s everything you need to know:

• You must complete your 26.2 miles outdoors in 24 hours on Sunday 3rd October
• Registration costs £14 (now half price!) and runners pledge to raise a minimum of £200 for our charity
• You must be able to download and use the Official Virgin Money London Marathon App to track your progress on the day
• It’s Your Run, Your Way! You can run it by yourself or as part of a group, on a route that you choose, at your own pace

We’re here to help you plan and get the most of it:

• Our runners will all receive a Secret World Wildlife Rescue branded top to wear on the day, plus an official number from the organisers
• You will receive an official medal and finishers’ t-shirt from the organisers after the event
• Our team will be on hand to help you plan your day, promote your fundraising page, and offer tips and advice to help you get the most out of it
• You will also have access to resources from the organisers, including online webinars and events
