Our centre is not open to the public and our work with wildlife is done behind closed doors to minimise human interference. However, there are some opportunities to visit us:
Open Days – We host a series of open days throughout the year. These usually take place over a bank holiday weekend. They are a chance for the community to visit the ‘public’ area of our site and take part in fun activities for the whole family. There are no wild animals to see but plenty of opportunities to learn about the animals in our care and how you can help wildlife where you live.
Our open weekends returned in 2022 after almost 3 years. Please keep an eye on our Events page for details of future events.
Learning – We use our work with wildlife to educate the public and inspire a love of the natural world. Our Learning team run a wide range of sessions throughout the year and welcome visits from schools and community groups. These sessions are an opportunity to learn about nature in a secure outdoor location, and they also use our Lottery-funded education centre if the weather is bad.
We are pleased to confirm that we are now welcoming pre-booked school trips and community groups to our site. Please see our Learning page to find out more about what we offer.
Weddings – If you’re looking for a venue for your wedding we may have just the thing! Our Bluebell Barn is available for hire. Licensed for civil ceremonies, the barn can seat up to 50 guests. With the enclosed lawned garden and marquee, additional guests can be accommodated, and a bar and catering can be arranged if you want to extend the celebrations. Combining the charming character of the Bluebell Barn at Secret World Wildlife Rescue with the luxury bridal suite and accommodation at Wall Eden Farm, you can create your wedding package that is unique, and even a little quirky. See our Venue Hire page for more information.
Venue Hire – Our Bluebell Barn is a multi-use space that can be booked for almost anything! We have hosted family celebrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops. It can seat up to 50 people and comes equipped with audio-visual equipment, wi-fi, a full kitchen and a private meeting room. It’s fitted with underfloor heating and an environmentally-friendly wood pellet stove so it’s comfortable all-year round.
