Virtual Easter Challenge – Gardening

Our Easter Weekend is usually the biggest fundraiser that we hold on site. We try to make it interesting and interactive for you and your family to enjoy. Sadly, we won’t be able to welcome you all on site this Easter but we have come up with some fun challenges. Some that you can complete on your own and some, such as the gardening challenge, with your family.  Please note, we do not receive the £5 sign up fee for these so we’d really appreciate it if you could raise some sponsorship money for us. This can be donated through our website.

Available: 10th Apr 2020 – 18th Apr 2020

Can you dodge the April showers and complete 26 hours of gardening between 11 – 18 April whilst helping British Wildlife at the same time. Track your progress and win a virtual medal  and certificate if you complete the hours.

We would love to take this opportunity to make more gardens wildlife friendly in the UK. Here are some ideas;

Dig a pond

Make a hedgehog highway in your fences

Build your own hedgehog shelter and feeding station

Build your own bird boxes or feeders

Start a compost heap

Make a bat box

Make bug boxes

Ask your friends and family to sponsor you for Secret World Wildlife Rescue, and win a Secret World virtual medal and certificate.

We would normally hold an Open Weekend over the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend. This raises vital funds for our charity and gives us a chance to meet all our wonderful supporters. Sadly we are unable to hold this event due to the Covid-19 pandemic but you can still help to support wildlife at our centre and in your own back garden through our virtual challenges and sponsorships. We are continuing to rescue and rehabilitate wildlife at our centre in Highbridge, Somerset.
