Secret World during the current Covid-19 outbreak
****UPDATE**** 30 March 2020
Following the government announcement on 23rd March 2020, we now have few staff working on site and are only able to accept very limited numbers of wildlife casualties. Please call us to discuss any sick, orphaned or injured wildlife you may be aware of: 01278 783250
The general advice at this time is that wildlife casualties should be taken to the nearest vets. Please call them beforehand.
***Telephone advice can also be offered for other non-emergency wildlife issues.*** 01278 783250
During the current Covid-19 outbreak Secret World Wildlife Rescue will remain open to wildlife casualties as long as we have the staffing and funding to do so.
All our public fundraising and educational events have been cancelled for the foreseeable future.
Many of our volunteers who typically pick up casualties are elderly and thus are unavailable. In these circumstances we ask you, whenever possible, to take injured, sick or orphaned wildlife to your nearest vets. If you have any concerns about infection, you won’t need to go inside: reception staff will go outside to pick up the animal. Always phone for advice beforehand.
Our donations of animal food have dropped off this week so we’d be very grateful for any that you can give us via our Amazon wish list: https://www.amazon.co.uk/…/25FXCUD82U3…/ref=cm_wl_rlist_go_v
Alternately animal food donations can be left in the SWWR bins at some local supermarkets if you are visiting those for grocery shopping.
The situation is changing on a daily basis so please check our website and Facebook page for further updates.
