A kingfisher who suffered a nasty head trauma is set to return to the wild after treatment at Secret World Wildlife Rescue in East Huntspill, Somerset.

Secret World admitted the kingfisher after it flew into a window, suffering trauma to the head as a result.

The bird was found stunned and with its eyes shut on the ground in Chew Magna. Fearing the worst the homeowner contacted us, and the kingfisher was brought in for assessment.

Luckily it had no long term injuries and after a bit of rest and relaxation was soon back to full health.

Animal carer Dan Bryant was responsible for assessing the kingfisher. He said: “There was a slight head trauma after it hit the window but no other injuries. We now need to test fly it in one of our flight aviaries, and if all goes well then we can release it back to the wild.”
