Secret World Wildlife Rescue will be holding a series of festive events and activities this December to help young and old get into a jolly mood for the holiday season.
With a Santa’s grotto, craft workshops and carol singing, the wildlife rescue charity will be catering to everyone young and old. And the money raised will also ensure the animals in Secret World’s care will get the best Christmas possible.
Samantha Hannay, Head of External Relations at Secret World, said: “We are always trying to find ways to educate the public about the plight of British wildlife. By opening our doors, we can sensitise people to our rescue, rehabilitation and release work.
“We are quite excited about our Christmas programme. We have tried to cater to a wide variety of ages, tastes and interests.”
Santa’s Grotto
Father Christmas will be visiting Secret World on Sundays 3rd, 10th and 17th December. Meet him in his grotto and receive gift. Make festive crafts while you wait, and buy last minute gifts from Secret World’s shop. Refreshments, including mince pies and mulled wine, will be available. Slots must be booked in advance on www.secretworld.org and cost £7 per child. Dogs are welcome too.
Christmas workshops
Feeling crafty? Get to work in Santa’s workshop and make decorations that you can display proudly in your home. From traditional log centrepieces to wooden tree decorations and wreaths. Ideal for making your home feel festive, of for gifts for friends and family. The workshops will take place on Thursdays 7th, 14th and 21st December and cost £8 per person.
Carols by Candlelight
Join us around the Christmas tree on Friday 15th December from 6pm for some traditional carol singing. Illuminated by candlelight, this event is guaranteed to make you feel all merry and bright. Refreshments, including mulled wine and mince pies, will be available and our resident birds of prey will make an appearance.
