Frequently Asked Questions

Will Secret World open on a daily basis to the general public again?

Unlikely but who knows! We love to see and meet people who share our passion for wildlife but the added pressures and associated costs currently make this unviable. We hope that you will all take the chance to come and see us on one of our opens days (see events page for more details).

What plans do you have for the future?

Everyone at Secret World Wildlife Rescue has high hopes for the future, we're positive that with your help, we can continue to give the best possible care to the thousands of orphaned and injured British wild animals that come through our doors each year.

Is the website updated regularly

The website is updated regularly with all current news and photos of recently rescued animals.

Do you ever turn away any wild animals?

No. Never! And we never put a healthy animal to sleep. Wherever possible, all patients are returned to the wild once fit and well.

We see Secret World on television a lot and we are wondering if this makes the charity a lot of money?

Whilst we do not get paid for the regular television appearances, the publicity is invaluable for raising public awareness of Secret World. Its hard work, but we are very grateful for the opportunity it gives us to show people even a little of the wildlife rescue work we do here at Secret World. The Television coverage gives an insight into our specialized work giving people the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the sorts of animals given a second chance at our centre.

We would like to raise funds for Secret World in our area. What can we do to help you?

Firstly –thank you for offering your help. There are all kinds of things like coffee mornings, jumble sales, car boot sales, local supporter group, selling raffle tickets, etc. that could bring in urgently needed funds. Perhaps one of the most immediate ways you could help is to distribute supporter leaflets and adoption forms to prospective new Secret World supporters – not door to door, but to friends, relatives and colleagues who you know share your interest in saving animals.

If you need any leaflets or would like to chat over an idea with someone, please give us a call on 01278 783250 or email

We make a monthly Standing Order donation to Secret World. Do you expect us to also make donations to your special appeals?

Standing Orders are a lifeline to Secret World. They provide us with the only source of regular income to pay our monthly bills; I'm not sure we could cope without your monthly support, so, a big THANK YOU to everyone who is able to help us in this way. If, in addition to your Standing Order you are able to make the occasional donation towards one of our appeals, please be assured it is greatly appreciated – but we will understand if you can't do both. If you would prefer not to receive our Emergency Appeals please let us know and we will off course honour your request.

You can make a one off donation or regularly donation online today. Just click here!
