VOLUNTEERING

WE URGENTLY NEED:

  • people who live near us who can spare a few hours each week to help us with processing membership applications and other vitally important supporter fulfilment information.
  • supporters anywhere in the country who would like to help position our new membership and adoption leaflet dispensers in places like vet surgeries, small shops, office receptions, etc. In our experience you will find 99% of these locations receptive to helping us!
  • help with researching grants that we can pursue. (We provide the reference books!) Suit someone local to Secret World.
  • Open Days helpers: A wonderful opportunity to come and help out wherever needed on these busy days. You'll have great fun and lots of company
  • help with distributing our special appeals door-to-door in your area. No knocking on doors -simply putting an envelope through the letterbox. In the envelope is a nice letter from us inviting people to send us a donation -we have done this in our area and it's been very successful and raises much needed money for our animal rescue work.
  • plan small fundraisers in your area. Coffee mornings, auctions of unwanted gifts etc.
  • volunteers to help with the everyday duties that are involved with looking after the injured and sick animals at Secret World and also to help look after the resident animals too. Some duties will be cleaning, washing (laundry) and feeding the animals.
  • maintenance volunteers : Running a wildlife centre we find that there is a constant need for tradesmen that could help all around the site.
  • carpenters, builders. plasterers, electricians, painter and decorators : Also we are always needing tools of the trade and machinery i.e.: strimmers, chainsaws, etc., to help us with the many jobs that we find need doing on a day-to-day basis.

If you can help at all with the above, please contact:
