Thank you to all our ‘Brean14′ supporters!

An extra hours rest in bed and the surprisingly mild weather spurred on our ‘Brean14’ participants! We would like to thank everyone who put on their walking boots and running shoes in aid of Secret World on Sunday 30th October. All proceeds from the event will go directly towards the rescue, rehabilitation and rescue of injured and orphaned wildlife. Sponsorship is being collected and an update of monies raised will be included in our next newsletter. Thanks go to our dedicated volunteers who attended on the day and helped the event run smoothly.

Getting active for wildlife - some of our 'Brean14' supporters!

Participants were able to take part in a 6km fun walk to the Sundowner Cafe ( where cafe manager Sarah Tinsley arranged pumpkin carving and Halloween cake decorating for the children. Or for those seeking a more strenuous challenge – the 14km walk or run enabled participants to reach the famous Lighthouse on Legs before retracing their steps back along the beach.

Thanks go to Jon Harris and the staff at Warren Farm Holiday Park ( who organised a special raffle for Secret World and where members of the public had the opportunity to meet some of our resident birds of prey and find out more about the work we do.

If you missed your chance to take part this year then don’t worry – look out for more information in our Spring Newsletter for the 2012 ‘Brean14’ taking place on Sunday 28th October 2012. Help us continue being there for wildlife in need 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. Your support will help fund out rescue service and the hand- rearing of hundreds of orphaned wildlife every year. Please help us continue to inspire and support the general public to care for Britain’s increasingly endangered wildlife so future generations can enjoy it too. Get together in 2012 with your friends, family, class mates or work colleagues and get active for wildlife….put the diary in your diary today and we look forward to seeing you next year!

Thank you
